Dayana R.C.
I hate bios written in third person. So, here’s a bit about me, I was born in Jojutla, Mexico, but moved to Queretaro to get my degree in International Relations (2015-2019). Upon graduation I received a scholarship to study Mandarin in Taiwan for a year and a half (2020-2021), after Taiwan I came back to Mexico for a year where I worked with Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation. In 2022, I embarked on my journey to get my Erasmus Mundus Joint Degree master’s degree in Gender Studies by the University of Łódź, Poland and the University of Granada, Spain (2022-2025). My Master’s thesis was “Understanding the processes of migration and integration of non-European female healthcare workers in long-term care homes in Austria”. From all the research and knowledge gathered, I would change many things from my thesis today, including the title and the focus of the research, but it is precisely this evolution that makes me passionate about research and knowledge, that things are constantly evolving and that knowledge as humans is almost never completely static. Through these academic and life journeys, I experienced loss, grief, friendship, and love, but that’s a story to have over coffee or whatever drink is agreed upon. Currently living in Austria, solo researching and trying to start a PhD with focus on Migration, Transnational Care-Chains, Gender.
